Just a Note ~ The Card Concept

Hello everyone! Today starts a new challenge over at The Card Concept challenge blog based on the picture below...

I found a watercoloured background that I had made a few weeks ago on my desk pile and thought it would be a great starting point for my card.  I grabbed a tag and some twine along with some pieces in my extras pile to pull this Mixed Media/Free Collage styled card together.   I hope you'll head over to The Card Concept blog to see all the different interpretations from the Design Team then join in the fun!  Have a great day!

Congrats on Your Achievement!

Hi friends!  I'm back today with my take on this week's PTI Make it Monday challenge.  We are asked to curve a straight sentiment on a card.  I used one of my ink pads to curve the word "achievement."  I was needing a special card for my son's girlfriend who just received her Engineering Iron Ring last week.  She'll be graduating in May after a lot of perseverance and dedication.  I wanted to send her a little pre-graduation surprise.  AND here's the second card I made at the same time!  I'm still going strong on making 2 cards at once :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope your week has started out well :)

Wish ~ Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop

Greetings friends!  Welcome to my take on this month's PTI Blog Hop.  I had high hopes of stamping my own background but then I found this paper in one of my Crate Paper pads and just had to go with it!  I was inspired by the gold bird but changed it into a butterfly.  The gold by itself was a little flat so I blinged it up!  In keeping with my goal to make 2 cards at once, here is the second card with similar elements and a sentiment that was lying on my desk (bonus!).

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the hop!

Beautiful You ~ Make it Monday

Hello friends!  I've had a fun afternoon in the studio and wanted to share one of the cards I made for the PTI Make it Monday challenge, create a chipboard sentiment window. I really wanted to use Dawn's Floral Sketches so I went to PTI's Pinterest board to look at some cards using this set.  I found this AMAZING card by Amy and just had to CASE it.   Thanks for stopping by!

Scatter Kindness ~ Curtain Call Inspiration

Hello everyone!  There's a new challenge up and ready to go over on the  Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.  This time we’re inspired by this photo…

Wow!  What a whole lot of gorgeous colours and patterns.  I dug through my patterned paper pads and chose some that mimicked the photo.  I layered them down and wasn't quite sure where to go from there so I grabbed a doily and a tag (my comfort embellishments).  I just love the wispy tails of the the twine :)

Want to play along?  Head over to the Curtain Call blog for more inspiration and then join in the fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink Redo Challenge

Hi everyone!  I'm sneaking one last Papertrey Ink challenge in before tomorrow's release.  Today's challenge was to rework a project you weren't 100% loving.  I was feeling pretty good about all my projects but I had to pick one so I decided on reworking my package project.  I have many of Michelle Wooderson's card/embellishment packs from a few years ago and just love all the little bits and pieces she used to work with.  I went back to some of her older posts and CASEd THIS pretty packaging with some of her items and some from my own stash.  The bag and tag sentiment are from PTI. Here's my first project...

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope your week is going well :)

Papertrye Ink Anniversary Challenges #2

Hi friends!  I'm back one more time to add to my Papertrey Ink's Anniversary challenges.  I haven't been doing them in order, but I'm all caught up as of tonight!  First up is a CASE of one of my cards a week or so ago.  I just love this Friendly Flower set and knew I wanted to make a card with these florals for the Day 3 Challenge.  Next up is the Day 2 Challenge to use repeated shapes on a card.  If you can believe it, all the pieces for this card were lying on my desk!  After making a gold quatrefoil die cut for last month's Blog Hop (see my card here), I saved the negative cut outs because they were so pretty!  I glued them to a card front and left it on my desk.  Then one night I started adding some left over bits and pieces from the pile on my desk...and voila!

The last challenge is the packaging one from the Guest Blogger, Rebecca Luminarias' post.  ACK! Does she make magic with gift wrapping or what! Total eye candy!  I made this card months ago for our school secretary and it needed a special envelope.  I will be giving it to her next month for Secretary's Day. Shhhhh!

That's all for me now!  Thanks for visiting and sharing part of your day (or evening) with me :)

Just a Little Something for You

Hi everyone!  I had some happy time in the studio today in between curling games and got to finish a few more cards for the PTI challenges.  First up is my take on Lizzie's nail polish marbling.  As you can see, my polish is quite loud and neon!  That's because I only paint my toe nails and I love me some fun hot pinks when the weather is hot.  However, with all the snow and cold weather lately, this background was not working for me so I added some vellum and a doily to try to tame it a bit! HA! Here it is before the cover up :)

I'm happy to announce that Newfoundland/Labrador won the Brier this year (Canadian Men's Curling championship).  It was in their home town and it was Brad Gushue's fourteenth time trying to win a Brier (he won gold at the Olympics in 2006).  I am so happy for them!  Thanks for stopping by!

No Enjoyment Like Reading ~ PTI Anniversary Challenge

Hi everyone!  I'm back today with the first of the PTI Anniversary Challenges.  If you are a regular on my blog, you know I get caught up in their challenges and try to do all of them!  With reports done now, I may be able to do it again!  Today's project is a bookmark I made for a student teacher finishing up her practicum at our school.  She LOVES to read and even lent me a book this month so I thought I'd slip this in the book when I return it to her this week.  I took inspiration from the colours on Laurie's coaster and used as many stitched dies as I could! LOL

Wish Big ~ PTI Make it Monday

Hi everyone!  Well, reports are done and the Canadian Men's Curling has started!  I had a little inky time in between draws so finished some cards on my to do list.  This card is for PTI's Make it Monday. The challenge is to use pencil crayons on kraft.  I used Melissa's gorgeous card as inspiration adding some of my own details.  Thanks for stopping by!
