Full of Gratitude ~ CASE Study #136

fullofgratitudemaureenplut

Hi everyone!  There’s a new challenge just up over on the CASE Study blog.  We are in the presence of CAS and technique royalty with J J Bolton from Ribbon Girls!  Here’s her next stunning card!

CSC136

EEK! I remember squealing when I first saw this card last year on her blog…jaw dropping or what?  I thought I’d go for it and CASE her technique.  She was kind enough to share the process on her blog and I’m sharing my own, awkward, one…lol.  It ain’t pretty, but it worked!

As per JJ’s instructions, I picked out some coloured cardstock.  Then I cut out strips with my PTI rickrack die and stacked the strips on 3 different pieces of cardstock.

Next I cut the strips apart on the curve of the rickrack.

Then I played with the strips to form an eye pleasing pattern.  Next, I glued the pattern onto another piece of cardstock.  Then I cut the whole pattern out.  Not too bad for my first try, eh?  So, do you want to give it a try?  Maybe you’re just inspired by the colours, layout, sentiment or chevrons.  Whatever your fancy, join us this week!  Head over to the CASE Study blog or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial ~ Purse Papers

pursepapersinside

Good morning!  It’s hump day and that means the new Splitcoast Stampers newsletter has come out and there’s a tutorial there by me! EEK!  I feel a little out of my league over there, but Julee from Verve had faith that I could pull it off and asked if I would create a tutorial on these Purse Papers I made over two years ago.  Here’s a peek at the finished project.  To see the whole tutorial, click HERE :)  Thanks for stopping by and please make sure to let me know if you make this project.  I would love to see your take on it :)  Hugs!

PTI Knots Badge Ribbon Challenge

IMG_5560

Hello again!  I am getting right into the challenges this morning!  This card is for the Knot Badge/Ribbon Challenge.  I picked Dawn’s video to view because as you know I am thoroughly smitten with her :)  I will view another video to learn a new technique, but I wanted to spend some time with Dawn :)  I LOVE tying ribbon and it was her tutorial years ago that helped me perfect my bow tying skills :)  So now I’ve earned my Knots badge!  LOL  I’ve never been to summer camp but I can relate to the badge earning with Brownies :)  teehee :)

Okay, see you soon!  And I know I’ve posted this before, but it seems only fitting to do it again on this post :)

Counting My Blessings…

countingblessings

Good morning!!  Well, I’m up early and looking forward to a new year as strange as it may sound.  Today’s card makes me realize that I truly have so many blessings in my life…too many to count actually.  So bring on the new year!!  Today’s card is for this week’s PTI Make It Monday.  The technique this week is to make your own background using a stamp that was not intended for backgrounds.  With school starting today, I was inspired to use the ruler image from It’s Official.  I stamped it repeatedly with my favourite colours on kraft.  I then made a ruler ribbon that Dawn showed us last year during the It’s Official reveal on her blog. I also used many of my new PTI goodies including Dawn’s Grateful set and the new tab and mum dies.  Thanks for stopping by and wish me luck!!

happybirthdayloopyflower

Hi everyone!!  Here I thought things would calm down a bit once reports were done, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.  Maybe once school is out next week :)  Today’s card is a little belated birthday wish for my dear blog buddy, Aimes.  Her lovely birthday was yesterday and by the sounds of it, she was having LOTS O’ FUN!!  I had to make this loopy flower again!!  They are really so very easy and fun to make….instant gratification!!  Did you see the Wild Card Colour Challenge I have going on over at A Passion for Papertrey?  Check it out…it’s open to participants worldwide!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!! Celebrate Good Times!

goodtimes

Good morning!! Well, I had the best day off yesterday…breakfast downtown on a sunny morning and a bit of fun shopping at Michaels and the Apple Store (yes, a shiny new black iPad 2 is on its way to me in 2-3 weeks :)  Then I got home and a sweet little package from Taylored Expressions was in the mail with some new My Mind’s Eye papers and prima flowers :)  So a fabulous day all round!  I also finished this fun little card that uses this week’s Colour Q colours :)  I was inspired by the fabulous card by Kasia, one of the design team members.  My fellow Diva Tosh had also made a similar flower on her blog, so I went over to view her tutorial and created this super fun loopy felt flower.  I also picked a sentiment that makes my card perfect for the new challenge over on A Passion for Papertrey…to be inspired by a song.  Remember Kool and the Gang?  “Celebrate good times, come on and celebrate!"  Kind of a fun song and reminds me of the little parties I have in the studio!! LOL   I hope you are celebrating good times wherever you are…oh, and any iPad users out there?  I could use some little bits of information to get me started…have any?  I’ve been in Etsy looking for a funky cover…need help with that too ;)  Thanks for visiting!
