Hello friends! I've been busy making some custom grad cards for my friend at work. This layout has become one of my favourites for graduation cards...I'm not sure where I first saw this layout...perhaps from a PTI designer...it's been my goto ever since 2014 (see the first card HERE). I also use it for generic non custom grad cards as seen here below.

ink: pure poppy (PTI), going gray, basic grey (SU)

Congrats on Your Achievement!
Hi friends! I'm back today with my take on this week's PTI Make it Monday challenge. We are asked to curve a straight sentiment on a card. I used one of my ink pads to curve the word "achievement." I was needing a special card for my son's girlfriend who just received her Engineering Iron Ring last week. She'll be graduating in May after a lot of perseverance and dedication. I wanted to send her a little pre-graduation surprise. AND here's the second card I made at the same time! I'm still going strong on making 2 cards at once :)
Thanks for stopping by! Hope your week has started out well :)

Verve June Spotlight Hop ~ Day 5 (Release Day!)
It's release day at Verve and we're celebrating with Day 5 of our June 2015 Spotlight Hops! Have you enjoyed the spotlights we've been sharing this week? Well, the wait is over and everything previewed this week is available in the Verve online store now!
Today's spotlight is shining on The Sparkly Dreams set illustrated by Julee Tilman, as well as the Butterfly Dreams Die Set and the Flourished Tag Die Set.
This set has a very special place in my heart. It all began 2 years ago at my son's university grad. Seeing him cross the stage and then seeing the graduate students cross the stage gave me the last bit of nudging I needed to go back to school to get my Masters. However, this time I would be OLD and working fulltime! LOL Last year I was reflecting on my first year's journey and found some graduation quotes. I sent the idea to Julee and voila, here are some of those quotes in this beautiful stamp set! The great thing is, they are not just for graduation but for any occasion! I'm also using the new Viva La Verve sketch by Charmaine...
Want to win some shiny new Verve? We'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win today's featured products! Believe Deep Down ~ PTI May Blog Hop
Greetings friends! Thanks for stopping by! Today’s card is for the Papertrey Ink’s Blog Hop. We were asked to make something inspired by this colourful photo…
This one took me awhile to figure out what shape I wanted to use. Then I wanted to try out my new curved dies. I curved the sentiment from the Happy Hearts set to match the curved line. Things were a little too CAS for me at that point so I tried out some extra numbers I had on my desk. Oh, then it became a grad card! I love it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!
Speaking of grad, here are the updated photos many of you have requested :)
Something I said I’d never do…get my Masters.
The two men I love most in the world :)
Having fun with the Bulldog! Go Zags!

Graduation 2015!!
Happy Saturday everyone! Today is graduation day for many students in Washington, yours truly included! Yes, I’ll be donning a black cap and gown and my Masters in Education cape :) I can’t believe it’s finally here! One of my beautiful nieces is also graduating this weekend and this is the card I made her :) I was also asked by a colleague to make a grad card for her daughter who will be a registered dietician…I used her school colours and made my own background on the main panel.
You can tell I love this design! I have another nephew graduating in a few more weeks so I’ll need to make his card ASAP. I’ll leave you with my 1992 grad photo, the one that will soon be updated!
Thanks for stopping by and congrats to all the grads this weekend!

Welcome to the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!!
This week we are inviting you to join us for...
I’ve got graduation on the brain this week so the “travel” theme made me think of “going onto the next adventure.” I picked some patterned paper with a hint of a map and then some inspirational sayings to stamp around the card. Head over to the Curtain Call Inspiration blog for more lovely samples and all the details on how to play. Have a great Sunday!

All the Best, Luke!
Hi everyone! Today’s card is a CASE of my CAS card a couple of days ago :) I just loved the layout and graduation elements so I made another one, this time for my nephew, Luke, who graduates today from Civil Engineering (the same as my son last year). I loved personalizing the card with some geometric paper and the year and university…you won’t find this one in a store, not even the UBC bookstore! LOL Big congrats to my nephew! Fingers crossed I’ll be the next one in the family to don a cap and gown :) Thanks for stopping by and helping me celebrate Luke’s great accomplishment.

Enjoy (You Did It) ~ PTI Blog Hop
Hello friends! Welcome to my Papertrey Ink Blog Hop post! This month Nichole is asking us to use melon and aqua on our creations. Oh, what a yummy combination!
I had this graduation card idea in my head and was so happy it translated to paper and ink! I was so excited to get the Wet Paint set and ink up that fabulous thick font! I just wanted a splash of aqua and melon so stamped off my images first before stamping on the die cuts. This card is for a colleague who just completed her Masters and graduates next week. I’ve got a bottle of sparkling wine to go with this card! What an accomplishment and an inspiration! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!
stamps: PTI Ruby Reprise, Wet Paint 1, Congrats All Ways
dies: PTI By the Numbers, Ruby Rose
paper: PTI white, Studio Calico Printshop

Happy Big Day!
Hi friends! Welcome to my second Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop post! Paulina is hosting her very first blog hop and I thought it would be fun to join in TWICE! I was in Michaels today and WOW, they’ve finally gotten on the chalkboard wagon and had lots of fun chalkboard items. You all know MY love for chalkboard (the teacher in me!) so it was easy to come home inspired by those black backgrounds. As I entered the studio after my shopping trip, I noticed my SU Chalk Talk stamp set and dies that have been sitting sadly staring at me since last summer. And the rest is inky history. I’ve got lots of Mother’s Day cards ready to go, but need some cards that would work for Graduation. Add in a shaker element and it’s a grad card made in heaven in my books! Thanks for stopping by! Head over to Paulina’s blog to see all the fun!
stamps: SU Chalk Talk, Verve Peace on Earth (scroll image), Clearly Besotted Stamps Blooming Marvelous (congratulations)
paper: pti and studio calico printshop

Wowzers! And some Grad Pics!
Good morning! Popping in with a fun card I made as the May Guest Designer for i {heart} papers. I was determined to make a fun background with the Avery Elle All Squared Up set. I love those hexagons! The set comes with a few individual hexagons so you can custom colour your grid! Cool! The bold sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays Exclamations. No wondering what the sender is feeling on this card! LOL I want to thank the wonderful team over at i {heart} papers for letting me hang out and play with so many of their goodies this month. It’s been an honour and a thrill :) Head over to their blog AND then the store to see all their great products!
Now, as promised, here are some pictures from my son’s graduation Tuesday…it was a proud moment and got me all teary eyed :) Here we are at dinner the night before.
Announcing Jake’s name before he crosses the stage :)
Me and Jake after the ceremony.
Me, Jake and Tony :)
Thanks for sharing in my celebration. Hmm, all this graduation stuff has me thinking of doing my Masters. EEK! Maybe!
