Happy Anniversary #11

Hello friends!  I am officially on vacation and yet I haven't spent any quality time in the studio!  I think it's because I need to do a major clean and am procrastinating!  However, I needed to make a card for a very special anniversary today.  The dh and I are celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary.  The traditional gift is steel to signify the strength of a marriage and the modern gift is diamonds! LOL  Really, aren't diamonds good for any anniversary?  I bought my beloved a cool steel knife that is also a fire starter!  He loves his knives so I think he'll love this one :)

Verve July Release ~ Day 2

Today's card is a special one for me...it's the one I gave the DH yesterday for our 10th Anniversary!  I used whites and greys with a splash of blue (the colour for tenth anniversaries).  When we answered the priest's questions during our vows, the answers were, "I have, I will, I do."  I thought it was most appropriate to add the "still" on the inside :)  I used an older set, Love Everlasting along with Everlasting Heart Die Set and the Heart Quartet Die to help make it extra special.

Happy Anniversary ~ Mojo Monday

Hi everyone!  I am playing along with this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  It's contest week (AKA "prize" week) so be sure to head over there and join in the fun!  I stamped the back panel with the floral heart in 4 different pastel colours, then cut the panel into 3 strips.  I wanted to make an Anniversary card with a double sentiment so I pulled out Stronger Love and chose my favourite quote from that set.  You can't have too many hearts on an Anniversary card so I added 2 extra sparkly ones with the help of some white glitter corrugated cardstock and the Heart Quartet Die.  The sentiment on the pennant diecut was looking a little sparse so I inked up the flourish from Peace on Earth.  I literally have this flourish on an acrylic block on my desk (see proof below).  It's one of my goto flourishes.

Forever Be My Always ~ Viva La Verve Friday

TGIF everyone! Today I'm sharing the card I made for the latest Viva La Verve sketch. I'm a little excited about this one because it's for the dh and our anniversary next month...yes, #9!  I think I'm more excited that I finished this well in advance than I am about the actual anniversary! HA!  Just kidding, sort of! I picked up a couple of wilderness/masculine pads of paper recently thinking they would be good for masculine cards.  My dh is an outdoors enthusiast so I know he will appreciate the nod to the forest despite the girly hearts and ribbon.  I used non permanent adhesive on the tag so he could take it off and use it for a bookmark long after the card comes down off the mantle :)

Eight Years Down!

Hello friends!  Today the DH and I are celebrating our 8th Anniversary…I know, it’s not a HUGE number like 15, 20, or 40, but each year, actually, each day means so much to us.  I love making our anniversary card and it’s even better if I can incorporate the day (07-07-07) or year like I did in this one.  Masculine enough?  The doily is for me! HA!  I love this paper as aqua and chartreuse were 2 of our wedding colours (along with periwinkle).  I’ll leave you with a photo from that beautiful day…

True Love (25 years down!)

Hi friends!  Last week, my dear secretary asked if I had any anniversary cards in my stash.  Ummm, I just mailed them to my sister!  My secretary is fabulous and always so thoughtful so I wanted to make this special 25th Anniversary card for her friends.  It was also the perfect opportunity to use this PTI set that I had bought for personalized anniversary cards :)  Have a great start to your week!

In two days the DH and I will celebrate our 7th anniversary :)  The significance of this is that we were married on 07-07-07!  AND 7 happens to be my favourite number!  I thought the Red, White & You challenge would be the perfect opportunity to make a special, customized anniversary card.  Copper is the traditional gift for 7th Anniversaries so I made sure one of my sevens was die cut from an old scrap of copper I had (see, it pays not to throw old scraps out!).  So for a “copper” gift, we are going to treat each other to a little getaway here in BC…a night at the “Copper Room” for dinner and dancing.  We love that place!  This sentiment from Feel the Sun fits my love theme perfectly and paired with the Small Phrases “happy anniversary” stamp are a match made in heaven…just like me and Tony :)  Here we are 7 years ago :)

Happy 6th Anniversary ~ Mojo Monday 305

Good morning!  Today’s card uses the new Mojo Monday sketch.  Since Mojo is run by Julee of Verve AND it’s Verve’s 6th anniversary this month, I thought it’d be fun to make a Verve Anniversary card complete with Verve stamps and colours! There was no “circle” for a doily so I snuck one in by folding in the sides to look more like a rectangle!  I can get around anything! HA!

Celebrating 4 Years of Blogging!

Welcome to a very special post!  I’ve been blogging for 4 years and can’t let the day go by without having a little celebratory fun!  EEK! Where has the time gone!?  Well, take 1294 posts, multiply that by an average of 1 hour per card plus blogging time and that’s where the time has gone! LOL  But I’ve loved every single second of it!  I cringe when I look at that first post on July 25th, 2009…although, I’m happy to report my photography and card making skills have improved greatly since then ;)  And that’s what it’s all about…the journey, the process, the camaraderie with other card makers…BUT let’s get onto the FUN part of having an Anniversary…the presents!  In honour of the 4th Anniversary, I have 4 fun gifts to give away to 4 commenters!  Here they are…
