Happy Fall

Hi everyone!!  Well, it's back to Fall on the old blog...it was bound to happen...especially since it has been over a whole week since I made a button tree...how do I survive?  LOL Big panels always throw me as I don't have very many LARGE images and I don't colour (nope, still not converted!!).  I've added some stamped leaves to the button tree to mix it up a bit and to add a little Verve :)  This card is my final entry in to the Verve Release Week sketch challenges and World Card Making Day celebrations.  All the details can be found on my link.  Well, that's all for me...have a lovely day :)  TGIF tomorrow!!! Yay!!!

Hello Friends!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!!! Well this week is flying by...and lucky me it's a long weekend coming up AND the new Verve Release!!! Today's card is for the third sketch Julee has created in celebration of World Card Making Day (last Saturday) and the October Verve Release :)  There are loads of ways to win stamps, so head over to the Verve Blog and check out all the details :)  Are you surprised?  A summery spring type of card!! LOL  I struggled with what to put on these panels and then "POP,"  my beloved hot air balloon came to mind :)  So, of course, it needed some fun sunny paper and some glittery clouds :)  We have actually been having beautiful, sunny weather here lately, so this card is not toooo far out of season!! LOL  I also tried something a little different with my ribbon...a layered type technique by Nichole Heady...I thought it would be perfect for this card.  Okay, one more card to go...it's actually already made, so I'll share it tomorrow :)  Hope you are all doing well, thanks so much for visiting :D

You Make Me Smile :)

Good morning, friends!!! If you are just tuning into my blog....you have found yourself in the middle of the Verve Release Week celebrations!!!  And because it was World Card Making Day a few days ago, Julee has combined the two celebrations into one and hosting sketch challenges all week long!!  Today's card uses the fourth sketch.  I can't wait until Spring to use it, so I ripped out this lovely paper from Cosmo Cricket's Pixie-licious pad :)  I was inspired by a card I made for the Verve August Release and used several elements from it.  Hope your Tuesday has started out well...have a lovely day and see you back here tomorrow :)

Verve World Card Making Day

Good evening!! Well, I'm back from a delightfully relaxing weekend with my dh...we were at a Hot Springs resort and the weather was perfect.  One of the many things we love about this place is that "love is all around" there.  They also have a dining room with a live band playing old tunes for dancing.  You feel like you are back in the 1950s...it's fabulous :)  But when I got home and checked my Blogger Dashboard....HOLA!!!  Challenges galore...I remember last year on World Card Making Day being overwhelmed by all the challenges and giving myself permission NOT to partcipate in all of them...LOL.  Verve wins out again, so my focus will be on the challenges that Julee has posted for us, getting us ready for the Verve Fall release...I can't wait!!! My new Verve binder (#3) that I had purchase after being Guest Diva has lots of space for new images...so bring them on Julee!!! LOL  I was able to get 3 sketches done this afternoon, but will spread them out over the week....up first is the last sketch (I'm pulling a Kristina and doing them out of order!! LOL...love you Kristina!!).  The kraft panel is embossed with the PTI woodgrain plate and I'm using some October Afternoon scraps :)  I thought the notebook page image would be perfect for the two panels and opted for a flower for the circle panel.  Okay, that's all tonight...back tomorrow with another sketch...

CARDS September

Good morning!!!  So now that's it's October, I'm allowed to show you the 2 cards that were published in last month's CARDS magazine (September).  I was so determined to NOT be a one hit wonder, that I submitted a few more cards.  The funny thing about this first card is that I sketched it out the one night I couldn't sleep last spring...I usually sleep like a baby!!  The "A" was cut with my Slice, the "+" was hand cut and then I coated both with Stampin' Up's crystal effects.  What I really love is the soft blue sentiment I stamped..."there's no doubt."  The second card you have seen before, it was part of a PTI  blog hop last spring :) That's all I've got this weekend...we are heading home after a relaxing little getaway...it's going to be a busy week for sure, but a great one...thanks for visiting :)

Wishing You the Best Day Ever

TGIF, dear friends!!  Ah, those lazy summer days when everyday was Friday are a distant memory now :)  However, with the move to a new school and grade, I am reenergized in my career and enjoying all the busy moments :)  I eeked out a few minutes this week to play along with one of my favourite sketch challenges by Mercy .  At first I had a different sentiment panel, but it took up too much room and I was dying to use my new PTI tag die...so here is the finished product.  It's a card for my new principal who is celebrating her birthday next week.  She is such a dear and a great team builder :)  Okay, so today after work, my dh is whisking me away on a romantic little getaway...I can't wait :)  Hope you have something fun to look forward to as well :)  Thanks for visiting and for all your sweet comments...they mean so much :D
