Desires of Your Heart

Good morning!  I had the most lovely time in the studio yesterday morning!  You know, those mornings where the errands can wait, the coffee is delicious, and your jammies are oh so comfy :)  I saw  this week’s Runway Inspired Challenge a few days ago and immediately thought of this fun patterned paper in my Lilybee Victoria Park pack.  I didn’t think I’d ever use this very busy pattern on a card, but I think it’s perfect peeking out of a negative die cut!  ACK!  One of my first negative die cuts!  I have seen them forever and admire them so much, so here it is, my maiden cut!  I’ve also used the linen impression plate on this, but my sweet little camera can’t pick up fine details like that.  Either way, I think I’ve captured the spirit of a CAS card :)  Have a fabulous Sunday!

One of My Nicest Thoughts

Good morning!  Ah, Saturday morning, almost as sweet as Friday afternoon.  However, starting next Saturday, I’ll be enjoying the week days  more instead of the weekend.  My favourite days reverse in the summer!  I think it’s because I enjoy the pleasure of being home during the work week…daytime talk shows, checking the mail, going for lunch.  Today’s card colours come from this week’s colourQ palette.  An unusual combination but I tried to make it work with some fun patterned paper and a sweet bow.  That wee sentiment is from Verve’s Small Phrases which is on sale right now over in the Verve Store!!  I’ll have a bit more play time this weekend!  My once cold studio in the winter has turned into the nicest cool place for summer stamping!  Have a fabulous weekend!  See you soon!

It’s Just Not the Same

Good morning!!  The official countdown to the summer begins today!  5 more work days, 3.5 with students, 0 report cards, 0 more field trips…ahh, it’s just around the corner!  Today’s card was inspired by a special event this week.  Bryan Adams, the CANADIAN born/BC raised talent, was in town Sunday night and it was AMAZING!!  I haven’t seen him since Gr. 11!  We’ve both aged, but still love to rock! LOL  Anyways, it was a rainy night and as we walked to the concert, we ran into a dear, old friend that I haven’t seen in over 2 years.  We spend about 5 minutes in a tight embrace, in the rain :)  It felt good and few words were needed to tell each other how much we’d missed each other.  It was perfect.  This sentiment explains how I felt for these years without her.  I’m using this week’s Viva La Verve sketch designed by Dive Teresa.  I had the sentiment and a few papers in mind and the rest fell into place.  Head over to the Verve Forum for all the details about how YOU could win $100 in Verve Bucks!  AND the sale over in the Verve Store would be a great place to shop!  All dies and matching stamps are on sale now!  Check it out!  Happy Friday!!  I hope yours has started out as wonderful as mine!

Celebrate, Duchess! ~ CASE Study #96

Good evening!  I know it’s still only June 20th year in BC, but tonight’s post is all about wishing my over the top fabulous and uber talented friend, Aimes (or Duchess, my nickname for her after being crowned Stamping Royalty last year!) a most happy and joyful 30th birthday for tomorrow, June 21st!!  Woohoo!  The Duchess and I are on the CASE Study design team together, so it seemed like the perfect time to send her the biggest of birthday wishes on my CASE Study post this week.  We continue to be inspired by the fabulous, Joy Taylor, and this fun little number (pun intended!)…

I picked out the fun colours and birthday theme of the card to create my own celebration card.  I’m really loving the Papertrey Ink Big Favourites.  There’s no missing this sentiment!! I’m sure the Duchess can hear me all the way across the pond!!  Have the happiest of birthdays, Duchess!! We all love you!!  30 is fabulous, just like you!  Hugs!!

Good morning!  Today’s card is based on this week’s Waltzingmouse sketch.  I have a sweet little pile of WMS sets on my desk and am loving them!  Today I’m using the Chicken Wire background and a sentiment from French Country.  I’m loving the grey and pink and white!  Thanks for popping by!  Once things slow down next week, I’ll be able to visit with you more :)

UR2CUTE!

Good morning!  I had to laugh at today’s blog post.  It looks like I’m sending someone a text and I’m one of the last people on earth who does not text!  I know!  I just have no time.  I can’t text at work and if I’m home, call me!  If I’m out, email me!  Truth be told, my cell is usually dead in my purse.  That’s just the way I roll :)  I’m old school and love it :)  Now having said that, I LOVE these sweet text-like sentiments from My Favorites Things.  I’m using their sketch from last week to create a fun card that would suit any dear friend.  Now onto some fun finds I want to share with you.  Fellow Verve Diva Teresa has been enabling me lately with her fabulous lace trim.  I couldn’t resist one late night (up with my cough a few weeks ago) so ordered a whole bunch from The Funkie Junkie site!  Here’s the stash that came yesterday along with some white burlap and corrugated cardboard (I can’t believe I bought cardboard!! LOL But I did!).

Also, about a month ago, I found this fabulous little caddy at Winners/HomeSense.  It’s a discount store in Canada that’s similar to TJ Max in the States.  Right now I’m using it for a card display, but it’s so versatile that it might be used another way at some point.

Oodles of Love and Hugs! WMS Blog Party

Good morning!  We are off to have breakfast with dad so I’m popping in early  with a fun card for today’s Waltzingmouse Blog Party.  I’ve been having so much fun as I get inky with more of my new WMS stamps.  I love the compact sentiments as I usually leave the inside of my cards blank (for writing), so the sentiments on the front do most of the work :)  This month we were asked to create a card inspired by this photo…
