Snowflakes are Winter’s Wonders

snowflakesmplut

Good morning, friends!  Well, I’m happy to report that our turf is safe and sound in our front and back yards.  It looks great, well, as great as new turf can look.  LOL  No injuries, burns or even sore muscles…my trainer will be happy about that ;)  Today’s card is for the new Festive Friday challenge.  It’s a Trigger week so here’s the inspiration …

Snow Trigger

Now, I love the snow, but not when it buries my car! LOL  I love it even more when it’s made of creamy felt against pink and red…oh my!  Thanks for stopping by!  It’s week 2 of the summer and the Cricut is still in the box….hmmm, that may be first priority next week!

Curtain Call Design Team Announcement!

There's a new show in town!  The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge (formerly Curtain Call Color Challenge) will make it's GRAND Re-Opening on July 15th!

Oh, I remember the original Curtain Call…I had the pleasure of being one of their Guest Designers and now I get to be an official Design Team Member.  Stacey has resigned the challenge and blog and it’s going to be amazing!  Hop on over to the Curtain Call blog to meet more of the Design Team, become a follower, and get ready to be inspired!

But before I go, I must let you know about something else wonderful happening today…it’s my 6th Anniversary…I know, it’s not the biggest of anniversaries, but that’s what happens when you wait (and wait…and wait) to meet your Prince Charming.  Here’s the card I made for a previous Verve release.  This card has been waiting patiently on my card display shelf since February!  How’s that for great organization and planning! LOL

So what are we doing to celebrate?  I’m all into following the modern or traditional anniversary gifts.  I found this cool website that also gives the option of ways to celebrate each anniversary.  The 6th anniversary gifts are:

traditional: candy or iron

modern: wood, symbolizing a long-lasting and solid marriage

LOL, the candy part was easy as the DH has a sweet tooth.  But we’ve been landscaping this week and thought that planting a flaming red maple tree (symbolizing the flaming passion we have for each other) would be most appropriate :)  I LOVE this idea :)

Thanks for sharing a special day for me in two ways!!  Have a great day!

Home is Where the (Turf) Is

homemaureenplut

LOL, good morning!  I couldn’t help that post title.  As I was typing it up last night, I deleted “heart” and put “turf” as that is all I can think about right now.  We have 4000 square feet of turf sitting in the back yard ready to roll (literally!) this morning.  We’ve moved 90 yards of top soil…for those of you who don’t know how much that is…it’s a whole humungous pile of dirt! LOL  I now know how much it is…around 6 small dump trucks full :)  So this card is very appropriate today, although I don’t know how much my heart will be in all this manual labour ;)  I’m more of a die cutter, ribbon tier kind of gal ;)  HA!  I’m using Chupa’s sketch today in celebration of her 100th Sketchbook Saturday Sketch!

SS100

I broke out one of the newest Clearly Besotted Stamp sets, Home Sweet Home, and matching dies.  I thought this gorgeous Fancy Pants paper was the perfect match to these fun images :)

Be sure to head over to Chupa’s blog and help her celebrate this fantastic milestone!  Thanks for visiting and wish me luck with the turf!

Happy Birthday, Stacey!

happybirthdaymaureenplut

Good morning, friends!  Today’s card is working double time…it uses Charmaine’s darling sketch over on the Viva La Verve forum AND is my entry into Stacey’s Birthday Linky PARTY Time celebration.  She’s got a whole lotta fun prizes you can win by simply linking up a birthday card!

SSS_birthdaybadge_lg

I knew that this paper pad, Seen and Noted, would be the perfect one to use for Stacey’s card as she used it during her Verve Guest Diva stint.  Not only did I LOVE what she created with it, I feel in love with all the colours and pattern.  This was my favourite along with my favourite Verve set at the moment :)

But WAIT…one more super fun announcement in case you haven’t checked out the AMAZING birthday sale over in the VERVE store along with a savings code good until the 7th…

followyourdreamsmaureenplut

Hello friends!  It’s July, it’s my first week of vacation AND there’s a new Muse over on the CASE Study blog today!  Not only are we introducing a new Muse, the talented Jocelyn Olson , we are welcoming a new Guest Designer and fellow Canadian, Tracey McNeely!  Welcome, Tracey!  Let’s look at Jocelyn’s first beauty :)

july 4

It was a no brainer that there MUST be at least one butterfly on my card this week! LOL  I found this beautiful piece of paper in the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss pack and thought it was perfect :)  I was also inspired by the “dream” part of the inspiration photo so made sure the word was in my own sentiment.  What strikes your fancy?  Head over to the CASE Study blog or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

10 Minute Craft Dash!

thankyoumaureenplut

Greetings and good morning, friends!  Clearly Besotted Stamps is sponsoring this week’s 10 Minute Craft Dash and the DT was invited to join in the fun!  I’ve seen many of my friends participate in this challenge, but didn’t know if I could do it!  Most of my cards take 30 minutes PLUS! LOL  So I went super CAS and it was a blast!  I had to turn the timer away so I wouldn’t look at it every 5 seconds! LOL  Here’s my final time…

…and my messy desk…

The only thing that slowed me down was I had to stamp several apples because I kept smudging the image in my haste!  The card will be one of the many I will make to thank my students and their parents for all the thoughtful gifts and kind words last week when the school year ended.  So, have YOU tried the 10 Minute Craft Dash?  You really must!  PLUS the winner will get 2 Clearly Besotted Stamp sets of her/his choice!  Cool!  Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

birthdayblessingsmojo300

This week Mojo Monday is celebrating its 300th sketch by offering 30 prizes for participants! Play along with the Mojo Monday 300 sketch and link it up to the Mojo Monday linky entry form and you’ll be in the drawing for some fabulous papercrafting goodies! For all the details, a list of prizes from over 20 different companies and some fabulous samples using the Mojo 300 sketch head on over to the Mojo Monday blog.

Mojo300Sketch

My card today celebrates another special day as well, Canada Day!  She is 146 years old (or 29 for the 117th time! LOL).  Knowing my card would have a Canadian flare to it, I chose some red patterned paper and mixed it with some sweet little pink heart paper :)  Out came some of that lovely maple leaf ribbon AND some red sequins to work the trend!  A die cut maple leaf took over the green circle of the sketch and the word Canada was stamped from a Canadian post stamp I have.  The On Occasion frame was inked in real red and I used a birthday sentiment from the same set.  I took the little “from”  from the Merry and Bright set and performed a needed “surgery” to get just the right sentiment :)

But wait!  We’re not done celebrating!  Julee has a great promotion going on over at the Verve Store using the coupon code: 300MOJO.  How fabulous is that?

I hope your week is starting out in the best way…now that summer holidays have started here, Mondays are just as loved as Fridays :)  LOL  Thanks for visiting!
