Verve Spotlight Hop ~ Day 1

bethechangemaureenplut

Welcome to our July 2014 Spotlight Hops!  We're so excited to share some new Verve with you! The Divas will be spotlighting 3 new sets, a plain jane and a coordinating die set over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled for some fresh Verve inspiration! Everything previewed this week will be available in the Verve online store on Friday, 7/11.

I’ve always loved this Gandhi quote so I knew it had to be the first stamp from the new Moments Remembered to receive some inky love.  I’ve used the beautiful leaf images to stamp on some neutral patterned paper.

Want to win some shiny new Verve? We'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win today's featured products! So be sure to leave a little comment on all the blogs below to increase your chances! happybirthdaymaureenplut

I’m using another gorgeous die that Top Dog Dies sent me :)  This Butterfly Die is so intricate and lovely.  I cut two butterflies out, one from vellum and one from patterned paper, then layered them together.  I was inspired by the actual colours this time round {wink} and, of course, the birthday theme!

We have an awesome sponsor, Top Dog Dies, for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Birthday Bash!  The LEAD of this challenge will receive some Top Dog Dies of their choice!

A few of the Curtain Call Crew gals have even more fabulous takes on the Birthday Bash challenge for you so head over to the Curtain Call blog to see them then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

Happy 7th Anniversary ~ Verve Diva Inspirations Hop

anniversary777maureenplut

Welcome to Verve's July Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Divas to serve up some fresh inspiration with their Verve stamps! Leave some comment love along the hop spots for a chance to win a prize, then grab some stamps and play along with our July inspiration challenge for another chance to win!

Our July challenge is Red, White and You:

Red and white are always classic, pair this gorgeous color combo with a color of YOUR choice! Make a statement or keep it muted, it's all up to you! Feel free to use the graphic as inspiration or not, we just want to see you flash a little red, white and "up to you" color on your creation!

DIH_July2014

In two days the DH and I will celebrate our 7th anniversary :)  The significance of this is that we were married on 07-07-07!  AND 7 happens to be my favourite number!  I thought the Red, White & You challenge would be the perfect opportunity to make a special, customized anniversary card.  Copper is the traditional gift for 7th Anniversaries so I made sure one of my sevens was die cut from an old scrap of copper I had (see, it pays not to throw old scraps out!).  So for a “copper” gift, we are going to treat each other to a little getaway here in BC…a night at the “Copper Room” for dinner and dancing.  We love that place!  This sentiment from Feel the Sun fits my love theme perfectly and paired with the Small Phrases “happy anniversary” stamp are a match made in heaven…just like me and Tony :)  Here we are 7 years ago :)

Just Because I Love You

justbecausemaureenplut

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s a new month and that means there’s a new sketch and colour combo over on the Viva La Verve challenge blog!  I had so much fun making this card for my son!  He’s moved into a new apartment so I’m sending this card to him with some $$ to buy a little barbeque for his deck.  We grill all the time and I think he needs to start as well :)

Let Us Be Grateful

begratefulmaureenplut

Hi friends!  Well, I’m coming into the home stretch with the last Masters weekend until the Fall!  As of Saturday, I’ll have one year down and one more to go!  It’s been quite the roller coaster ride, but I don’t regret any of it!  Well, maybe some of the stress and anxiety of not knowing what I was doing…but it all came together!  My old fears of not thinking I could do this have turned into excitement and hope and visions of me walking across the stage in a cap and gown!  Fingers crossed!

Our dear faculty advisor from Gonzaga agreed to come and have our last weekend on the 4th of July weekend.  We said we could rearrange this, but he said he didn’t mind, they don’t do it up like they used to.  So we’re making a little Fourth of July celebration for him.  I knew I had to make a red, white, and blue card for him, along with some maple leaves to represent his BC cohort :)  He is a gentle, wise, calm, and uplifting spirit and we have been so blessed to have him as our advisor.  He makes everything so easy, well, at least feel easy!  LOL  He truly is what higher education is all about.  To all my American friends, have a wonderful Fourth of July tomorrow!  ox

Birthday Blessings from Canada ~ Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

birthdayblessingsmaureenplut

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians!  How appropriate that our challenge starting today is Birthday Bash.  Canada is 147 years young today and I always like to honour her with a birthday card. We have an awesome new sponsor, Top Dog Dies, for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Birthday Bash!  The designers received some fabulous Tog Dog Dies to work with for this challenge...such a quality product!  The LEAD of this challenge will receive a prize from Top Dog Dies!

I did not use ANY colours from the inspiration photo, but rather from this great country I live in :)  As well, in honour of our Canadian Mosaic, I’ve used stamps from several different companies including Verve (On Occasion), Papertrey Ink, and the old Stampin’ Up’s Glorious and Free :)

Top Dog Dies sent me the Heart Doily Die to play with.  I love personalizing doilies by stamping a motif on them.  Here I’ve made a Canadian doily!

Stop by the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Birthday Bash to see what the other designers created and then play along with us!  Have a great day, eh!
