Glad Tidings

Hey there friends!  In the middle of the studio reorganization, I took a break while the desk was semi-cleared to make this card for the Festive Friday challenge.  I think it’s easy to see what inspired me: kraft/white palette, snowflakes, vintage finds, and twine.  This little “Glad Tidings” stamp from Verve is one of my most favourite Christmas sentiments.  In fact, I think it should be used all year long!  Who doesn’t want to hear some glad tidings?  “Glad tidings, it’s summer!”  “Glad tidings, happy mail!”  “Glad tidings, spent the day in the studio!”  See, it totally works!

How Wonderful Life Is

Hi friends!  Friday and Saturday was busy on the blog, so I saved my Viva La Verve card for today to spread out the love! ox   I went BOLD today with some new Basicgrey Highline paper.  Some fun stitching and a PINK sentiment with loads of enamel dots made this card complete :)

Verve Release Retrospect Blog Hop

I have been dabbling in art journals and mixed media this month and although I haven’t tried anything YET, I’ve been inspired by texture and cut out words.  I’m using the new Happy Place stamp set along with the matching Happy Doodles Die Set.  I had the birthday sentiment from Be Blessed sitting on my desk from the last release and thought it was perfect for the bottom of the card :)  I HAD to find an inspiring phrase to tie into the birthday theme and found the perfect one in Words of Wisdom.  I was inspired by Amber’s card HERE where she cut up a sentiment.  I just love the look!  I left out the “goal” part of the sentiment and just left the dream part :) Then I traced around each word with my black pen.

As many of you know, the DH and I are new grandparents and loving every minute of it.  This card will be going to our new granddaughter next month with THE MOST GORGEOUS quilt my sister has made for us.  I took inspiration from the quilt which ties in perfectly with the inspiration photo.

I can’t show you the quilt yet, not until after the Baby Barbeque, but here are a couple of pictures with me, Grandmoe (bonus grandma), and our little grandpeanut!  LOL
