Good morning sweet friends :) It's a lovely Wednesday morning...my reports are handed in (I'm the first in the school, I know, teacher's pet...LOL) and now I can concentrate on my Christmas cards :) I wasn't going to participate in the Embellish challenge this week. These colours really intimidate me. I do not make (many) children's cards and red, blue and yellow always say "kid's card" to me. But if it was easy, it wouldn't be a challenge, would it? So I thought and thought of how to put these colours together without it looking like an invitation to a 5 year old's birthday party (not that there's anything wrong with that! LOL). It was just my personal challenge.
The flower is made of canvas and cut out with my nestabilities blossom die. I stamped the layers with a French script and flourish. The sentiment is stamped in night of navy and silver brads highlight it. I think I like it! It definitely doesn't say "kid's party" so I guess I did what I set out to do :) Have a wonderful day...Mojo Monday card is up for tomorrow :)

This is definitely not a kids party card! You really hit a home run with this challenge...great choice of details and wonderful accenting.
Love the flower with the different BG on the petals and the ribbon in the middle is great! Nice piercing down the sides too. Wonderfully done :D
you did wonderful for this challenge. those bold primaries scare me!! I love how you took a softer approach. It's beautiful
So pretty! The colors look great! :)
Fabulous job on the challenge! Gorgeous flower! Must be nice to have those report done.
absolutely adorable! (and you really did a great job -- it certainly doesnt look like its for a 5 year old! lol)
Tons of fun textures on this card.
It's a good life!

I'd have run a mile from this challenge LOL! But after seeing you totally rock it, I realise it's not that scary after all!
I love your flower - so pretty!

This is most definitely not a kid's party invitation! It's so cute and girly! And canvas... wow! What a great texture to put on the card! I've never actually worked with a material other than cardstock and acetate... I might have to branch out one of these days. I actually did pick up some cork a few months back, inspired by the amazing things you create with it... But I haven't quite been brave enough to use it yet. ;) Someday!
Wow... I love that you used soft and dark tones of the colors....Love the flower, the background and the sentiment...just perfect!
Great layout! Thanks for participating in another Embellish challenge!
