Kind Words...

Good morning!!! Well, I'm tired!!! LOL  Yesterday was busy, busy, busy despite only having kids in the class for 1.5 hours.  I had the class that was in my room last year and will get my class today :)  But the kids I met yesterday were very sweet and welcoming :)  I even had the dh stop by with a latte after school :)  Today's card is one I made on Monday for this week's Mojo Monday contest.  It's the first Monday of the month, so Julee has some free stamps up for grabs :)  As soon as I saw the circle, I knew I wanted to use this sentiment as I knew it fits perfectly into my circle nestabilities die :)  I had this paper left over from my Project Parade purse papers (say that 10 times quickly!! lol) and thought I would use it instead of cutting something new.  Okay, that's about it... have a wonderful Wednesday!!!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Purse Papers

Good morning!!! Happy Labour Day to my Canadian and American blog buddies.  It's the last day before work starts and other than a workout, the day is mine  to spend in the studio :)  I've been thinking of this project for a week and LOVE the way it turned out!!!  So let's get started.  First up, this is my second entry in the Verve Project Parade: Something Old, Something New.  All you need to do to play is use your newest Verve stamps with your older sets :)  How fun is that?  My project is a little collection of purse papers!!  It's a little folder made of double sided patterned paper with 12 papers inside with various sentiments.  You keep the folder in your purse for all those times you need a little piece of paper :)  I saw one of these at that little Tea Giftshop from my last post  and LOVED this idea!! I'd never seen these before and knew it would make a great, useful project (and gift!) :)  Plus, it's perfect for mixing and matching Verve sentiments and images!!!! I had all my Verve binders out and went to town!! LOL  Here's the inside of the folder....
And here are all the papers I made...I only made 12, but could easily fit 12 more in :)  See how well the old and new Verve stamps go together?  The sky's the limit on these papers!!
Okay, here's the original package and papers, but don't you think mine are prettier?  HA!!  There were different themed folders - sisters, friends, grandma, etc. - but I picked this one because of the saying inside...if the crown fits, wear it!  It reminded me of my "tiara" jokes during my Verve Guest Diva stint :)  LOL

Oh, this was so fun!!  To make the folder, I carefully separated the scalloped sleeve from the back of the folder, so the whole folder lay flat, then I made a tracer so I could make many more of these babies :)  I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I enjoyed making it and sharing it with you.  Have a lovely day and wish me luck tomorrow, not so much with the kids, but with getting up early and not having a lazy morning!! LOL  Hugs!!

Good Things in Unexpected Places....

Edit:  oops!!!  I just noticed that the colours were purple, green and BLACK, not brown!!! LOL  If I have time I'll make another...can't believe I missed that one!!! LOL  Must be overwhelmed with going back to work!!

Good morning!!!  Well, Saturday morning actually feels like Saturday morning....I've been in my classroom for 2 weeks setting up and the "feeling" of each day is back...you know, how Monday has a "feel" and Friday has a "feel."  LOL  Today's card is for the current Embellish challenge using squares.  I took the easy way out and just used some bitty box patterned paper....I came up short with all the other square ideas I had (hmmm, that sounds kinda nerdy, doesn't it? lol)  The title of the post and this sentiment seems very appropriate...good things in unexpected places.  On the way home from my 3 day workshop, my friend and I stopped at a little tea house just outside of the one horse town we were at for the 3 days.  It's called "Thyme for Tea."  It was this cute little tea house and gift shop.  We placed our order and were looking around when I saw this quote on one of the walls.  I just loved it!!!  Hmm, don't have this in a stamp...so off to Word I went and printed it out (Julee...if you're reading this, feel free to make this into a stamp!!!  And I have a lot more where that came from in my little quote book!! LOL :).  My new Stampin' Up ribbon came this week and I wanted to use it...oh, it's lovely...got it in peach parfait as well...a kind of ribbon I didn't have...and the dh just may have to install that third rack for me!! LOL  Okay, the third card with these Verve flowers...does that make it an official addiction?  Hmmm, at least for the week :)  Okay, I'm off to get some things done and then want to start a Verve Project Parade project....the idea came from this cute tea house (again!)....it's really cool.....hopefully will get it done by Monday :)  Thanks for stopping by and hope your weekend is wonderful :)

Reposting Thanks for Your Kindness

Edit:  I'm reposting this card as Blogger would not show my comment box...hopefully this works :)  Thanks for viewing again!!

Good morning!!! Ah, finally a card came together, albeit over 2 days :)  I had prepped the paper and sketch Tuesday night and finished up last night with the details.  I just loved Mercy's sketch this week and knew I had to make a card with it...one of the too few challenges I'll get to this week.  I wanted to use some Verve stamps too and then thought I would make this card do double duty for the current Verve Project Parade...Something Old, Something New.  Now this may sound like the wedding saying (....lol, I joke that the bride was "something old" at my wedding!!), but it just means to use one of your newest Verve sets with one of your old, old ones :)  One of my first sets was Thankful Blossoms and I got it by winning a Verve gift certificate...I was on a roll way back when :) The new set I'm using is Dream Big from the latest Anni-Verve-sary release.  I used the blossom stamps like this on one of the cards I made for the release and liked it so much I wanted to do it again on this card.  It's just stamping the ink off twice before applying the stamp onto the paper for a very subtle look.  I'm using some new fall paper and the very last of my digital library cards...I now have the stamp of it :)  I'm thinking this may eventually be a thank you card for my new librarian :)  Fall is not my favourite season, but I sure do love its rich colours :)  Hope you are having a glorious day...my son is in town and coming to school with me today to help set up...he's in charge of cleaning the math tubs and putting up my model solar system...lol.  AND because he's old and can drive, he'll be in charge of the Starbucks run in the afternoon!! LOL  Thanks for stopping by...

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Good morning!!! Well, today's post is full of "Thank you's."  I am so thankful that I didn't wreck the laminator at work (I had been worrying all week that I had...but it was an easy fix!).  I am also thankful that I got a lot accomplished at work yesterday after talking with the secretary, custodians, and principal :)  AND I'm thankful that this card is D-O-N-E.  What? You ask?  How could this scrumptious, cutie-patootie card cause me any grief? Well, look at this colour combo!!!  Really, you must all know that the colour draws are real as who would voluntarily choose to use these colours on one card...there is no rhyme or reason for these colours to be together...2 are fun, summery colours and 2 are deeper, cooler colours...hmmm...now that I think of it, maybe it was my subconscious processing the move from my carefree summer to the roller coaster ride of Fall and work beginning again...LOL!!!  I'm thinking that this card will go to one very special person in our district if my order for new shelves goes through quickly...hehehehe...
Notice how I took the easy way out with the blue and green...order form lines and leaves...yup, that's all I could come up with...lol.  BUT I was so desperate to use this more-than-yummy ribbon I picked up on my little side shopping spree during the conference last week.  I'd seen it several times on my buddy Michelle's blog and had to have some....seriously, it is to die for!!!  I should've picked up more than just 3 meters.  It ties like a dream even though it's about 6/8".  (You can see this ribbon and TONS more at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store...but I take no responsibility for enabling you ribbon lovers!! LOL...yikes!!!)  Let me know if you try this colour combo...if you dare!! LOL  Have a fabulous day...I'm in a Professional Day with my new staff :)  Hugs and smiles....

Groovy Kind of Love

Good morning!! Well, I had hoped to have another Wild Card Colour Challenge up for you today, but the card is still sitting on my desk.  I've had no time or inspiration to finish it.  Been in my classroom both Saturday and Sunday and then every day this week to set up (still unpacking even!!).  So today's card is one made with Dawn McVey's new set It's Official.  I just love it...I went really girly, girly on this one...reminds me of the WaCCCky a few weeks ago with all those sugary sweet colours.  Anyways, hopefully a new card will surface this week :)  Have a lovely Monday and thanks for stopping by :)
