To the Happy Couple

happycouplevlvjune3

Good morning!  I’m back with my TGIF Viva La Verve sketch! It was a joy to have a little break from reports :)  They’ll be done by Sunday!  Diva Janelle is inspiring us with her elegant sketch this week…

VLVJunWk3sketch2

For some reason, this card made me think of a wedding card, so that’s what I created.  We have 3 weddings to attend this summer and fall, maybe that’s what I was thinking about! LOL I used Verve’s Curvy Bookplate Die and coordinating stamp from Tag Time.  The sentiments are from Love Story and the sweet little doves were die cut with Love Birds and stamped with the coordinating image in Bright Spirits.  All these dies and their matching stamps are ON SALE this month!!  Click on the SALE banner below to check it all out!

I hope you’ll join us this week over on the Viva La Verve Forum!  Play all month and you could win a $100.00 Verve Gift Certificate!  Add that to this month’s sale and you’ll be swimming in stamps and dies!! Woohoo!  Have a glorious Friday and thanks so much for visiting…it sure brightens my day!

Every One of My Thoughts ~ CASE Study #95

Good evening!  It’s Wednesday evening here in BC, so that means there’s a new CASE Study challenge all ready to go!  As soon as I saw this fabulous card by our super talented June Muse, Joy Taylor, I knew I wanted/needed to use my PTI Frilly Flower stamps and dies again.  It’s a lot of work cutting, stamping and adhering, but oh so worth the effort as I plump up the petals and smile :)  I’ve been on a bit of a sentimental Verve stamp journey lately and thought this was the perfect uplifting quote to go with that luscious flower.  Here’s our inspiration this week…

My inspiration is kind of right out there, colours, layout, pearls…love it all!  I so hope you’ll join us this week!  Head over to the CASE Study blog to see all the Designer Teams takes on Joy’s yummy card and then join in the fun!  See you there!

Saddle Up!

fathersday

Good morning…gee, with all these posts this week, it’s hard to tell I’m writing reports! LOL  Truth be told, I did all I could last night and then had some time left over to play :)  I’m using this week’s Waltzingmouse Sketch to make my dad’s Father’s Day card.  I’ve been waiting patiently for just this occasion to use this John Wayne quote from Back in the Saddle.  My dad is a HUGE John Wayne fan as well as a real cowboy (who lives in town because my mom was a city girl ;) )  Here’s proof…this was taken back in the 90’s on one of our local Cattle Drives.  Dad used to love working the Drives. He was definitely in his element.  A local photographer took this picture and used it to make some gift cards for local stores.

And he’s still at it.  At 80, he still has 2 horses and heads out each morning to feed them.  So I think he’ll appreciate the Western theme of this card :)  Thanks for stopping by…see you tonight for the new CASE Study :)

Your Loving Kindness

psalm63plainjane

Good morning!  Today’s card was actually made back in January during the Verve New Stamps Release! Though it’s in my Verve Gallery, I have not shared it officially here on the blog.  I like to save a few cards to share when it’s going to be a busy week and that week starts now!  LOL  Year end activities, special cards to make AND report card writing will be the main focus this week…then it will be back to more “play time.”  A little ying with the yang, right?  This was the Verve Psalm 63:3-4 Plain Jane that was released in April and it so happened that this was the perfect card to send our former neighbours last month as a little thank you for watching our old door step for misdirected parcels!! LOL  I guess they recognized the size and shape of my regular small packages and knew they were mine and not the new owners!! LOL  They were such great neighbours too, always keeping an eye on things, always there with a cheerful hello and sharing their talents at our wedding…she played the Celtic harp for us during the ceremony :)  Good neighbours are golden, wouldn’t you agree?  Have a fabulous week and I’ll try to pop in now and then with a “sanity” card! LOL  TTYS!

One Day at a Time

oneday

Good Friday morning!  Oh, do I need a weekend!  It’s been grey and cold and rainy here and our poor drenched sundeck has had no lovin’ for over a week! ACK!  “They” promise us some sun on Monday, so until then, it’s one day at a time!!  How about THAT for a lead in!  My card today not only uses the brand spankin’ new Verve Plain Jane, but the fabulous new Viva La Verve sketch by Diva Tosh!  As I was flipping through my new paper pads, I stopped at this fun hot air balloon page in Basicgrey’s What’s Up?  It made me think of the Verve set Up Up and Away that has not seen ANY loving in the new studio! Double ACK!  And that’s basically how the whole card came together.  Want to win some serious Verve bucks?  Play all month long with all our sketches and you could win $100.00 of Verve GCs!  AND that will go even farther with the current Verve SaleJune12HP_01

So what are you waiting for?  Head over to the Verve SCS forum and join in all the fun!  See you there and TGIF, rain or shine!

p.s. I’m also using some more of that fabulous Bazzill Basics card stock!  Super thick, 100lbs weight, with fabulous names that will make you drool!  And check out their cool Matchmaker page to match their cardstock with popular designer papers!

Merci ~ CASE Study #94

merci

Bonjour! It’s June and that means there is a brand new Muse over on the CASE Study blog :)  This month we are being dazzled by the talent of Joy Taylor from the  Less is More blog.  This is my first introduction to her work, and WOW!  Do I have a little crush going on or what?! ACK!  Love her use of patterned paper and fun CAS style.  I am really going to love this month!!  Here’s the inspiration card for this week…

june7 - 94

I focused on the colours, the banner and the layers with the butterfly.  I was even inspired by the sentiment which I translated into French! What do you think of when you look at this card?  I’d love to see!  Head over to the CASE Study blog to check out the other Design Team’s takes then play along!  Enjoy!

Oh!  And hot off the press…this week we have a sponsor!  Beverley over at Uniko Studio is offering a stamp set for a lucky stamper this week!  I have 2 of her sets and I must say, they stamp like butt-ah!! Love them!
