Merry Christmas, Dear Friend

Good morning!! I know, I know...I was supposed to be writing report cards...don't worry I still am...but all typing and no play makes Moe cranky!! LOL I thought I'd make my Vive La Verve card Friday night before starting reports Saturday morning. I love this sketch and I love this card!! I am on a pink, aqua and white kick...so be prepared!! LOL I had to use my Eskimo Kisses dp again (dp for "delicious paper"!). The photo below is a closeup of the stitching...it's aquamist thread!! Yes, this is the perfectionist in me (buried deeply, but there nonetheless).

After getting my sewing machine last Spring, I headed to Walmart with some of my favourite cardstock samples and matched them to some thread. It really shows up well against the pink and white paper. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. We had our first real snowfall Friday night, more like a blizzard...but it's mostly gone now. How's the weather where you are?
What's in it?
Stamps: SU cute and curly
Ink: PTI aquamist
Paper: PTI sweet blush, white, Basicgrey Eskimo Kisses dp
Accessories: cuttlebug ef, papercraft snowflake border punch; stitching, curly label and corner rounder punches, PTI grosgrain ribbon

I missed the aqua thread when I saw this on SCS. Great touch! You sound like me when I go to my LSS to match up SU colours to their card stock :D Great colour combo - carry on as long as you want LOL! Hope the end is near for the report cards!

Ooh I'm so jealous of you having Bellas in Canada too btw, I just love those images! So fun to colour ;D!

Beautiful card Maureen, I love the non-traditional colors for xmas! Don't remind me about report cards, I'm cherishing another week of stamping before I need to do mine!!!

What a sweet holiday card! I'm still in love with that paper... I love all of the stitching. It gives the card such a handmade, antique-y feel. And how can you go wrong with Aqua Mist thread?!

I, too, spent a nice little penny at the PTI release last night. I just had to have the Turning a New Leaf stamp set and paper... Love those sillhouettes! My box usually takes 1-2 weeks to get across the country to CA, so we might get them about the same time this month! I can't wait to see what goodies you got and what you create with them!

I officially finished my report cards today. So glad they are over and done with. Now to prep for parent conferences. I am only teaching four days this week before playing hookie on Friday. I'm flying up to Portland to visit my sister whom is now living in southern Washington. We have all of Thanksgiving week off from work, and then parent conferences start the day we all return back. The 30th. The work as a teacher never really ends, does it?! lol Congrats on finishing your report cards!

HAHAHA! I wish I'd actually looked at your blog before I did up my VLV card because great minds really do think alike - and now I feel like a copy catter! LOL! Oh well....yours is fabulous, so I'll consider myself blessed to be even a fraction as brilliant. Your colors are phenomenal. Love this card!

So pretty! I love the pink and aqua combo! The weather here has been hot, but the temp dropped about 10 to 15 degrees today, now it's starting to feel like Autumn! :)
