Season’s Greetings

seasonsgreetings

Good morning!  It’s full on Christmas Season in the Studio and I’ve been having great fun getting reacquainted with my old Christmas sets as well as some new ones :)  Today’s card uses this week’s Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch with a non traditional colour palette and few little surprises! LOL  Notice those poinsettia leaves?  Adding green ones wouldn’t work with my colours and kraft didn’t make that big of a contrast.  Now you know my little trick of using a Starbuck’s sleeve for tiny corrugated shapes…but how about the reverse side with the printed text! HA!  I flipped the leaves over after the corrugated side looked to plain and was very happy with  the text…especially the one on the top right “Very Hot!”  EEK! How fun is that?  Are YOU making Christmas cards right now?  I’m not one for starting the season this early, but cards are another matter if I want them delivered on time :)  I’m usually a season at a time girl and right now it’s still FALL y’all! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

I'm full on Christmas at my house, but I'm sliding other cards in for card sets, etc. I love these gorgeous soft colors...and the jingle bells...well I think these are my favorite color!

Great idea to use the reverse of the sleeves. Loving the colour pallet, great poinsettia and of course, the "rusty" bells :)

Starbucks sleeves? Perfect!! Now I'll have to go steal some.... This is a beautiful card, and I love both the colour scheme and the way you interpreted the sketch!

Those leaves really captured my attention (I was thinking - cool new kraft paper - where can I find this??) and then to find that it is a recycled item - wow! looks amazing - I'm gonna have to repurpose some things of my own - now sure if they will look as fab as this :) Beautiful card Maureen - so neat how the bells pick up the color in the leaves!
